Hi, what would be the ideal tree frog for a beginner? I am looking for a tree frog that requires minimal space and if nocturnal that would be a plus.
Apologies if this post should be somewhere else, if it is could someone direct me please.
its often suggested Whites Tree Frogs are the best
and here's a thread Frog Forum - Choosing a Frog
Hello Paul! I would go with this one: Frog Forum - White's Tree Frog Care - Litoria caerulea .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Thanks guys, whites it is.
What do you mean my minimal space. WTF get pretty big which means they need space to move in. Just how big of viv can you go? I have 3 WTF in the Exo Terra 90 x 45 x 90 cm / 36” x 18” x 36” (WxDxH) & at night they use the entire space moving around.

If you can find them over in the UK, Gray Tree Frogs are pretty damned good frogs with lots of personality, aren't as big as WTF's (so if you have a small tank like me, you could easily house one, maybe even two), and they are nice and resilient, so they can be a good beginner frog. The only issue I might see is that they are an American species, so they might be tricky to find over there. Good luck to you if you decide to look for one though.
