While setting up a 12 in. cube ExoTerra enclosure was thinking of a false bottom and remembered still had a couple Lee's Undergravel Economy filter plates from fish tanks. After a look around, found that the 12x12 in plates from a 30 gal. tank filter (3 12x12s) fitted. Since these filters come in several sizes maybe some others can be adapted to same use in different sized enclosures.
Instalation is easy, just wiggle plate in with tube hole close to back, attach tube connector, and slide in tube (might need trimming I took 2 in. off). Then get a cap to prevent crickets etc. falling into tube and voila, done! To drain any fluid from bottom just remove cap and insert drain hose !
After adding substrate, background and gauges we are almost done.
Easy day !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
good deal carlos. i thought about using one of those i had laying around, but it was too small for the project i was working on. it does make adding a drainage system easier. great tip!!
