Dairy products can cause health problems worse if not equivalent to blindness in humans, and that is cancer. It is also a huge cause of obesity. Especially low fat and skim milk. In fact, whole milk is healthier than skim or low fat milk. 90 percent of foods labeled as low fat or less fat actually have equal to or less benefits as foods labeled without. Example(milk) Low fat labels are a way to better sale products to us. For huge corps to make money. Same as vitamins and supplements sold in stores like GNC, can cause deficiency’s in the vitamin we are taking them for. Which is why I do agree with herpguy to an extent . But not all brands and products do this. What I am trying to get at with this post is mammals drink milk. Not insects or amphibs. And only we drink milk from another species. It is not natural and should not be used. I will say I love cheese and yogurt and other dairy products and I take a risk consuming these products knowingly. I know this just as a smoker knows that smoking is harmful and does it anyways.
Some roach species require more protein than other’s this is certain. But as far as B. dubia they do not require protein here are the links to some threads about this discussion. http://www.frogforum.net/food-feeders-live-frozen-culturing-etc/22070-dubia-roach-protein-theory-something-every-dubia-breeder-should-know.html The conclusion thread is http://www.frogforum.net/food-feeder...tml#post176851. This thread is about B. dubia not any other species.

Something I am considering since my wife can't handle feeding live food.

I do believe OP is looking for alternatives to live feeding, which doesn't leave too many viable options.

Tong feeding f/t dubia could work, earthworms are not as "nasty" to some people as well.

I don't know enough about silversides to make an informative comment unfortunately.

Right you are SCF! we totally derailed that thread. roaches are a good choice easy to gut load and have a good size to them, earth worms are great as well if not better but roaches are easier to breed. Fish are a good choice depending on the species. gold fish i would avoid. there excrements can be dangous to frogs. Other fish can be an excellent food source. I as well know little about which fish are best but i do know many species of frogs eat fish in the wild. and many frog farms that harvest frogs for food raise them on fish. I appologise for going off track with this.

The sausage feeding method he was referring to is in this thread, which is on another forum. Hopefully I am not breaking any rules by posting it, (it won't hurt my feelings if you pull it mods =) )

I have mixed thoughts on this, it would be interesting to hear your guy's comments.

I'm guilty for derailing as well.
