Snails in with my FBT's

I have some pond snails and MTS in my frog tank. When they get to be to many I put in a cup with a waffer or two in and get up during the night and dump it in my oscar or goldfish tank. And first thing in the morning. Depending on how well I can sleep as to how many nights I do this.
You can do in the day time too but I seem to gather more snails if I do it at night.

Ill keep the population down but I really dont mind them, but they are really too small to see most of them right now, I dont have any fish tanks to place them in. I am mainly concerned about them being a health issue for my FBT's is all, and like mpmistr mentioned, I dont want them eatting them but FBTs usualy wont eat much from the water.

i wouldn't worry too much about them eating them. i highly doubt they move fast enough to illicit a hunting response from the frogs. not to mention, there are very few animals of which snails are on their diet.

If you want to thin snail populations can try leaving a lettuce leaf in tank at night close to where you see them. Take leaf out in the morning and it should have them still feeding on it.

To wipe them out your best chance is to get a couple of assassins in there. Not Ninjas ; but these guys: Anentome helena. They are ruthless snail exterminators and when snails are gone will consume food leftovers in tank bottom. Good luck !

Just found I had snails in my new tank I bought from someone. Had it about a week but the old owner did not keep things moist. With my 80% humidity they are coming out. Found about 10 this morning. Will take them and put them in a tiny thank. Maybe someone can put them to use. I do not think my frogs will eat them as they are full of flies.
