Feeding Tongs

The other day I got some feeding tongs for my two Hyla Cinereas so I can feed each one individually. However, the only downside I have to this is that I have to get the frogs out of the cage to feed them with the tongs (daily). I know I should handle them as little as possible, but there's no way I would be able to feed them this way when they're in the cage because they hide in the tightest places. I do wash my hands before and after I handle them, but will it stress the frogs out if I handle them daily? Thanks for any help!

yes it will stress them out, hyla cinera are not frogs to be handled
much. try feeding at night, they will be more active and not hide as much.

Why can't you tong feed them directly in their cage?

I agree with Ryan- avoid handling them as much as possible.

I can't directly feed them because they always hide in places where I can't reach with the tongs (also, the longer I wait in trying to get the tongs to the frogs the more time the crickets have to wiggle themselves free of the tongs-I don't hold them too tight for fear of squishing them). Hmmm, I'll try to feed them at night; the disadvantage to this, though, is that it's dark so I can't see much; finding the frogs would be very difficult (I don't want to turn on their light for fear of messing up their day/night cycle).

Frogs don't see red lights !

I don't use a red light; I was talking about the one that is on for twelve hours a day and turns off at night automatically (it's on a timer). If I were to turn it on at night, it would be very bright.
