I have 4 FBT's two of which that are brown for the most part. One has green patches occasionally but it doesnt last very long. Is there anyway to make them green like the other two? Theyre all happy and healthy but i was wondering about the color.
Thanks
I keep FBTs at home and only provide a flourecent light you would have
for a fish tank, their colors are very bright and they are very actve

What's your set up? I recently had this problem with my 2 in my 5gal set up. I added a second pond in grey and removed a few things. my little guy brightened right up! Less compition for a water hang out and bit more water in the tank.
I've heard of some people adding more grey to the tank (usually with the grey stacking slate). The UVB is an option.
It's really about finding a happy medium for all the little guys to be happy...

Dunno if it's my phone or not but it shows an attached image but not a thumbnail or anything..
The reason why your toads may be darker is because they are too crowded, a 5 gallon
seems a bit small, i had also started with two toads in a 5 gallon but then advanced to
a ten gallon, they were barking and much happier! calcium suppliments also helps

Some seem to stay either bright green or brown no matter what conditions they have. I have noticed some are more susceptible to their surroundings. My tank is mostly water with islands and stays fairly dark. I have to pull them out and put in another container to eat crickets. That container is clear and the lighting is very bright. I place them back in their tank after eating, and a couple of them are noticeably brighter green. But some stay the same no matter what.
