from what i hear these frogs are next to IMPOSSIBLE to breed in captivity. SO? If anyone has had any luck let me know. Otherwise they will just make great pets with pregnant females for the duration i own them. =/
wow! those guys are so pretty, let us know how it'll go, pls![]()
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Very pretty! Some of those big yellow spots look like hearts![]()
4.1.0White's Green Tree Frog (OliveR, Shrek, Skitter,Frankie,Storm)
0.3.0 Cats (Isis, Cleo, Sasha)
1.1.0 Bearded Dragon (Dexter,my girl)(Luci, my boy)
Well i figured out why after extensive research why they wont breed in captivity:
1.) They lay their eggs in the mudd/soil near "RIVERS / STREAMS/ CREEKS"!!
COMMON BREEDER would only do a solid body of water with some basic form of filtration/pump system.
-I would need to create a vivarium that would have a constant flow of fresh water that would rise up and down based on rain levels and moon formations (tide).
2.) They are a (MONTANE) Species:
They live in the MOUNTAINS!!!
- I would need to simulate altitude pressure! (NOT EASY !! NOT CHEAP TO DO!!)
3.) Found in banana plants.
-I bet no one has a banana plant in their vivarium either!
Hmm well I'm not financially suitable for this type of project. But i really would like to do this project. Can Anyone please help me financially to make this project successful?
Please private me if interested. If you would like something in return for the donations i can see what i can do. Please mention it! =/. Im willing to do so much to get this project running so i can successfully breed these little guys =)
Im going to skip on the PRESSURE situation... but still going to do the river water simulation .... NO reason for financial support anymore. =P
Yes i totally agree... from what I've heard after i got SCREAMED at on the DBOARD but some guy named ED. "NOT DARTED FROM FROG FORUM" is that they can breed montane-submontane species without simulating the oxygen level differences or the pressure differences... THe mud aspect were all assumptions on some of the educational websites i was looking at. 2 resources both mentioned mud. However since there isnt ANY knowledge on them breeding it makes me question alot of those theories. Ill do my best to simulate SOME of those theories without causing harm to the frogs. I just wish SOMONE had information.. One of the moderators off the DENDROBOARD specifically stated the females will die if they don't drop the eggs. (HORRIBLE) if thats the case they shouldn't even try to catch the females and put them up in the pet trade. This will be a bumpy road for sure =/
Weird fros. Ii like the one with yellow spots.
Corey, you will never know is you won't try, that is how i look at it.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
You know me Lija..Iwill try my best for the best interests of the frog... I dont need any dead females because I can't replicate the breeding season for them =/
I wanted to take a moment to say that the person i mentioned "ED" by screaming at me was clearly trying to debunk my theory based of knowledge he had in the field which i did not have. He was just making a point and no negative attention should be brought to him over this...thank you.
