Hi! I had a ceramic bulb with negative consequences so I finally removed it. In a 60x45x55 centimeteres vivarium for a milk frog with a daytime heat glo and a heat mat I get 23ºC (under bulb there is 26.8ºC). Should I buy a infrared heat bulb? Would it do the same that ceramic bulb to my frog (dry its skin)? What wattage should I buy if you think I must heat up....?
whatever heat lamp ( mat, etc) you have it will lower your humidity, so you need to adjust it accordingly. ceramic bulbs are good and last long, don't really get why you removed it, just get a humidifier ( fogger) and cover part of screen.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
i suggest you get a controller for heat and humidity, hydrotherm would be the best option. I'm assuming your fogger is not on full time, so you would plug fogger and heat lamp into it to maintain constant levels.
you can get infrared lamp of course, you can use anything that would provide heat or humidity safely.

I totally agree with Lija,
you should invest in a controller.
Like HygroTherm™ Humidity & Temperature Controller
I highly recommend it.
you can set it to control both the temp and humidity.
it can even be programmed for a night and day temp
I agree with them too. I have 2 zoomed hygrotherm s. They were the best investment I've never yet. Gives Mr total piece of mind. The cheapest place I found was thatpetplace.com. goodluck.

You can run just about any type of heat source you want. with the exception of Mercury vapor bulbs. I.E the repti sun bulbs.
But infra red, ceramic , heat mats as long as the wattage is under 1000W you are good to go.
Again louis is right! You've received some awesome info. I will just add, that through trial and error with my RETF s, I found a 60 watt ceramic bulb on my hygrotherm did the trick for us in conjunction with a constant running 5x7 side mounted uth. Hope this helps. Good luck!
