Hey guys,
This is my newest little guy, have had him had for a couple of weeks. I noticed a green spot on his head (pictures are posted below) and I'm just curious if this is something I should be worried about? Or is this just a natural color occurrence? He's active and healthy otherwise, I haven't had any problems with this one. I've kept him away from the other racks just as a precaution. Was sold to me as a regular brown. Noticed in some pictures that the tan lines have a green spot as they grow so that got me a little up, but I've also read some threads about a green spot illness among certain frogs that is deadly.
I'm probably being paranoid but it's crossed my mind several times so I'd like others to chime in for assurance
(Mind the wet substrate, fresh batch)
You can see he's got some of the green along his spine as well, hard to make it out with the brightness. My other browns don't have any green.
Cheers
From the pics, look like your brown Pacman is developing normal green pigmentation.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Figured! I thought they develop the green pigments as they get older. Guess it varies with each one. My greens are four times the size of this brown and they're just starting to brown out. And my other browns are bigger than this specimen as well and show no signs of green yet, which made me think it was something abnormal.
Thanks for the prompt response.
Yeah this is just a color void in the stripes. It is common.
the q was pretty much answered. so i will just say - i really like your frog!![]()
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
