A day old set-up tank is not even begun cycling so the debris is probably normal. The plants might be in shock from transfer and ejecting leaves because of that. Have you compared pH on new tank and donor tank?

You can use a fine meshed net (sold for netting brine shrimp) to catch leaves. The filter might get some debris from water column; but to get those on bottom the suction would probably suck sand too, which is not good for impeller assembly. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Pic was posted last night, I woke up this morning and the filter has picked the majority of it up. I cleaned the rest up with a net.

I was worried because I didn't know if this was normal, but I guess it is. Tank looks much better now:

    1) cleaned foam with old water (cycled water)
    2) Put one of my old filters into new tank to aid seeding/cycling
    3) Put all of my old plants and decorations (for the same purpose)
    4) Added Prime to the water

    !) Sand has settled nicely
    !!) Water is clear
!!!) Hardly any debris from plants
