FBT's & Anole's?

Hello Frog Forum Land,

This is the kind of set- up I am preparing for my 5 FBT's:
Not exactly like that in the picture... but more FBT friendly

From what I read Anole's drink condensation from the glass to get there water and They do not swim in water or anything that would put them indirect contact with the Toxins. What I'm wondering is Could I put Anole's in this Habitat with my FBT's without worrying about the toxin's hurting them? Or should I call this idea a bust?

to be safe, i wouldnt do it. the two would be very tricky to cohabitate together
because anoles need a hot basking spot and FBTs like the terrarium very cool. I
know there are some people out there who put american green tree frogs with
anoles but im not so sure. when in doubt, dont house them together

i'm actually a big fan of multispecies tanks (blasphemous, i know...lol), if the tank is large enough, and done properly, but the sizes of the tanks that the viquarium are made for are a bit small, in my opinion. also, keep in mind the origins of the species in question, as well as care requirements. it "may" work, but why risk it?

as far az the toxins, i have yet to see any scientific proof that fbt's kill anything else living in the tank with them (fish for example). so i wouldn't worry about that. but i would be concerned about bacteria from things like urine or feces that could infect the other. being as they are from such different parts of the world, they won't have any immunity to the other's native bacterias.

It's a 40gl Breeder tank. So, lot's of extra space.

But, yeah, a 40 gallon breeder is quite a lot of space. Mind posting some pictures once it's done?

Don't be surprised when you see missing limbs on the geckos then.

Anoles are too big for a fbt to eat mine get along just fine

if your planning on putting a crested anole in the tank, make sure you give him some
space. anoles can be very terretorial over a certian area of the terrarium, i would maybe
devote 20 gallons to the anole and 20 to the toads. mixing species isnt usually my thing
but its possible if you give large amounts of space.

I agree with Ryan. You could buy an aquarium divider to keep the FBT's on one side, or make one. Seal it using aquarium-grade silicone sealant.

Mixing species has never been my thing, either, as it can cause stress, food competition, fights, injuries, poisoning, and sometimes an animal being killed.
