I Came home today thinking my fbt was hiding in the pillow moss that i have been growing for him, to my dismay its gonegone from the tank, i have had him about 5 months, tank was well secured with steel mesh top, with a light sitting on it weighing it down.
My questions is, is it possible for them to lift the 5.5 gallon top with the light on top in order to escape? i didn't think so... but... so disappointed

Are you positive it got out? They can wiggle into surprisingly small/tight spaces. Check all the decor in the tank.

Welcome to FF! Recommend use a flashlight and look into every possible crevice. Sometimes they get into tight places and can't back out. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
In case it has escaped, put out a few low water bowls around the room and check them frequently for the frog.
In case it's still in the tank, get another set of eyes to look through it for you.
i hope you find him!!! i also have a pair in a 5.5 gallon tank with a thick steel screen on top. i wouldnt have said that they would be able to push it off... but mine never attempt to climb up the sides either..
ya, its been a couple of days its gonebut for the way he might have gotten out, i have a filter that is fairly high even if he climbed that i had a towel covering half the tank with a light turned off weighing it down, since at night its been freezing here. Not sure what happened.
