Hello again forum-people. Unfortunately I really need help.
I got Charlie (a whites dumpy tree frog) just under a year ago. He has never been a fat frog, no matter how much I fed him. But now he is really skinny- anorexicly so. Now the first thought in your mind must be "oh the humidity is bad" or "she touched them without washing her hands". Both of which are untrue I promise. His habitat hasn't changed (other than cleaning), he has had the same tank-mates for a month (I had purchased one more dumpy frog a month ago), and I am always careful when I touch him.
Symptoms:
- not eating
- lethargic
- Cloudy blue eyes
- skinny-no fat or muscle mass
- joints look swollen
- green spots all over his naturally brown body
Maybe the pictures will help. I know he looks malnourished but please be nice with the comments. I'm scared I might loose him. So far I have tried a diluted pedialite bath and I have given him a Fluker's REPTA + BOOST bath for the past 2 nights. Currently he is quarantined in my sick tank.
Thank you guys.![]()

Do you know if he was wild-caught or captive bred? Looks like it could be parasites.
I would take him to a local exotics vet and have a fecal done.
I don't know if he was wild or captive when I bought him. I got him from my local Petsmart and I haven't had any problems with him since I got him. I have to wait until Thursday to take him to a vet (thats when I get my paycheck) so I was wondering if there is anything I can do until then.
Did you quarantine your new arrivals for at least 30 days prior to introducing them as tank mates? My hunch is that something new was introduced into the environment that is causing him to become sick.. Looks like a bacterial or fungal infection. Those spots should be treated asap, start with a non-pain reliever neosporin. apply a little dab to the spots twice per day with a clean q-tip when the frog is sleeping. Be sure not to cover the whole of the frog because he actually breaths and drinks through his skin and the neosporin can suffocate the skin.
My recommendation, Take to a vet as soon as you can or email Dr. Frye:

(don't have his email off hand, but you can call his office, they are so nice)
Good luck
