I have three FBTs. I'm almost certain that I have 2 males & 1 female, going on what I have read on this forum, only in that she is slightly larger than the other two, and I notice they call but she doesn't seem to - but I could be wrong of course.
Anyway, tonight one of the 'boys' has been harassing her for ages grabbing hold of her, and she seems to be getting quite stressed out. She is in the same corner of the tank, leaping up out of the water trying to climb, and constantly on the move back and forth along the tank wall literally bobbing and diving so to speak. As soon as she quietens down, he's there again.
I almost feel like taking her out and putting her in a seperate tank to give her a rest, but she might get more stressed doing that.
Is this normal behaviour, and am I being silly to worry ??
Yes, its normal and there is no need to worry.
Thx Kurt - things have calmed down this morning.
In the garden tho its a different story with courting frogs everywhere. Really big frogs too, yellowish coloured!!
Some are in the pond and some are in the undergrowth in cuddles of twos and threes. Lovely to know there will be new froglets in the garden. The only problem I have is keeping my Staffie from scratching at them with her sharp paws.
Keep her indoors.
yeah right - she'd love that !! I just have to go outside with her and keep a watch on her.
