Im trying to soke some of my frogs and i got some unflavored pedialyte how do i go about doing it safely? ive always used honey for this but i want to try this could i get some more details thanks for the help
1:10 Pedialyte to de-chlorinated water solution (bath for 15 min. daily) is what I read here. Never had to use myself, good luck Vince!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
it depends on the amount of electrolytes your frog need, 1:10 as Carlos said is typically advised ratio for non complicated cases, 1:6 or 8 is recommended for more difficult cases and in critical cases you can go for smaller ratio.

2 of my blues haveint eaten in 3-4 days and am worryed it doseint look like there inpackedid ive been feeding pacman food and tonight i offerd them all earth worms these 2 didnt eat ive got 1000 crickits comeing on friday but i want to treat them for now there in a small tuppire contaner with papper towls temp 81 im in fla so there outside.one of them is pulling its hind leg in the air and wiggleing its toes but isint takeing any food from the tongs he as so will open his mouth if i pick him up i dont know if this will help but hes not acting like anyof my other frogs
lol some of mine are not acting how a frog should, like my male ornate would bite, sometimes it looks like that - he is opening his mouth and sits like that and i believe he never caught a cricket in his life, too lazy for that lol
your frogs look perfectly fine to me. give them some time, may be they are just not hungry.

Vince the raising of the leg and wriggling the toes is a lure to attract prey. Especially other frogs. Try the pedialyte bath and see if their appetites return. I would also have a fecal exam done if the poop in the next day or so.
Ok ill have my doc look at there fecals this weekend. i dont think thay will have worms seeing as how there so young and are CB by mike the only way i could see them getting worms is from the crickits ive been feeding other than that thay haveint come in contact with anything other than the other frogs from mike. thay do look good and healty other than the opening of the mouth
So its not looking good for one of my blues he looks like hes toxing out desplaying all the sings of it fliping on his back mouth opening jumping around i just dont understan ive done everything right the cageis are cleaned everyday and the waater is changed as will i soked him for 15 mins and its not looking good ill be suprized if he makes it the night![]()
oh no... how he is right now?

No but the hours leading to his death he kept his head tilted down like he was looking at the ground he passed about 1:30 last night from the pics you would think he was healthy now my other one is doing the head tilt thing I really can't lose yet another froggie to an unknown illness

I'm sorry for your frog death Vince! Not sure what's going on; but would isolate any frog that came into contact with dead or sick one's. Also, make sure you wash hands with disinfectant soap between handling different frogs. Last thing you want is to spread a contagious deadly disease among them. Good luck
!

Whatever it is it is most likely communicable. I would place all your frogs in temparary separate tubs. 1 per tub so that what ever this might be doesn't spread.

Are you keeping them outside ? The answer to your problems other than keeping them all together may be right there . Id be worried about pesticides coming in from the city or count spraying for mosquitoes and and wild bugs that may be getting in with them and they are eating them . I had one of my lime green albinos just up and die the other day . The rest of the ones I got at the same time are fine but that one was fine and then the next day it was dead . No warning signs nothing . Sometimes with animals espically abnormal ones there are weak genes and they will just die for no outward apparent reason .
so sorry to hear Vince, that is horrible, hope the rest of your frogs are all right.

im not worryed about keeping them out side i have a back room called a florida room with a larg windo, and that doseint have A/C so the temps are just right and the night time lows dont drop to an unsafe lvl. no bugs get into this room and ive hept all my other larger frogs in there for months with no problem. im thinking that what ever it is that is killing off my frogs haseint spread it seems to be contained to one bin i gess its an lurning exp and ill be more aware of the worning sings next time. all my other froggies are fat and healthy feeding on earth worms now im cutting back on the pacman food for a lil wille
I'm thinking of something that might caused it and can't come up with anything... healthy frog living in ideal environment, eating no problem, refused to eat for 4 days in a row and still looked healthy and suddenly died.... poisoning of some sorts? do you have any vets around who can do necropsy on a frog? because whatever this is, is very weird.

all of my other frogs are doing good ive got them all separated and cutting back on the pacman food for now. earthworms and crickits for the next few weeks it hade to have been some kind of virus because all the frogs that hade died wear in the same bin and all of my others are doing good. maybe it was something in the co-co fiber ? i just dont know
Hi Vince! Hope all is stable with frogs, losing one of those expensive beauties must be a double hit. Think maybe there are 3 possibilities here.
First, a toxic agent in that particular bin. Do you remember if the frogs you lost a while ago were in same bin? If that is the case; clean bin well and be observant of frogs in it or just replace it. Imagine you share coco substrate among bins so that can't be problem. Food could be issue (bad food or deficient diet); but it's not affecting other frogs in rest of bins, so scratch that one.
Second is a virus. If you wash hands between containers and are very scrupulous about not sharing anything between containers (cleaning items, etc.) there is a viral death possibility. Wiping empty container with pure unscented bleach (wear gloves and do in vented area), rinse well, wipe with 10X dechlorinated water solution; should sterilize it. Virus are very contagious, so if you have handled frogs without hand washing between tubs... can rule out a virus cause. Not sure if veterinarians have a treatment for frog viruses; but there is none for fish... zero!
Third possibility is a bad gene! Most living organisms have them with no problems because usually are of a recessive nature. Once we start doing selective breeding to intensify a trait and cross brothers to sisters or sons/daughters back to parents, those recessive bad genes have an increased chance to show up. If that is the case; there is nothing you can do and any animal with gene will probably die. In the hybrid fish world, some species combo's will hatch and then weeks later all the fry will die. Other's the fish will be fine, mature and one day the hobbyist will find them dead for no apparent reason. It happens enough to receive a name... "Sudden Death Syndrome." The existence of many intense color Pacman's and mutants leads me to think there is selective inbreeding ongoing and with every generation the chances of bad genes showing increase exponentially unless new animals are introduced to gene pool at specific intervals.
Not sure if any of above mind ramblings will help you try and figure out what went wrong, but maybe it will. Good luck Bro!
