Default Size comparison of my 3 AFBs.

I recently changed my African Bullfrogs dirt since I was up to my armpits in setting up the new guy and decided to take pictures to compare. I thought I would post them just to show everyone else. The first picture is of my male, Gherkin (7 1/2 yrs old); second is of my second male, Kadesh (20 months); and lastly, my female, Obi (approximately 20 months old as well). Kadesh and Obi look kind of bloated to me, but they just came out of a hibernation and have not eated for a few weeks. They may not have liked being picked up and placed in a blue bucket either! Hopefully they will pick up their old feeding schedule with no problems.

While Khadesh and Obi might look a little big in the width department, Gherkin is definitely thin. Give him a good feed.

I gave him a frozen mouse and three large mealworms today. Tomorrow, I am going to pump him full of worms. He is going to be fed pretty much every day for the next week or so. Would it be okay to squeeze in an extra frozen Mickey here and there, just to beef him up a bit and then remove them from his diet for a while? Or maybe I should stock up on some butter worms to get him plump? Kadesh and Obi refused to eat today, but I will try again with them tomorrow. A worm or two each will do them good. Thanks in advance John.

Yes, seeing the photos side by side like that, Kadesh has some catching up to do for sure! Though John is definitely right-Gherkin does look very skinny to my other two. Just imagine what he is going to look like once he fills out proper!?! I had a quick look through some of my pics and I can only find one really good shot of Kadesh eating worms. Either the worms are gone down his throat before I can snap the picture, or they bury themselves into the dirt. This time, he managed to eat them before they lost all their calcium powder and I managed to get a shot off-good day! I will try and take some more over the next few days. Gherkin looks like he wants to be an eating machine!
