Question about males

Hi guys, I have found a pyxie frog for sale, but to make sure it is a male because it is like 3" SVL and at 1-2 months old. At that age should males have red on their limbs or do males start to get yellow and at like 1yr do they start to devolope red.

Is there a possible picture to view? Thinking back to when Kadesh was but a wee one, he developed yellow along his throat pretty early on, and had the blunt head right from the get-go. However, I am not the best on this subject, but a picture would definitely help if you have access to one. Best of luck!

3" is on the small side to definitely sex these guys, unless someone is very experienced. Get that photo.

I fully admit, I am not the best on sexing these guys, but that photo is not the best to really get a good view. For someone wanting to sell a frog, I would think he would take a better picture. And what is that white stuff in the middle set-up? It looks like a bunch of calcium powder got dumped-or mould......I would definitely get John's opinion on this one. He has given me plenty of sound advice and if he told me to go ahead and purchase a frog based on a photo, or use caution, I would listen to him. Best of luck!

That photo is a joke. I do think it's possible to sex them at 3 inches _some times_ but in most cases it's not.

What do you mean that it is a joke? It is true that he is selling it, but I'm not really sure because it is like 5 months old and he hasn't responded to me. I'm only asking because if it is still for sale and if I do buy it I want to know what it is.
