Hi,
so I´m starting a new adventure
Up until now, my frog experience is restricted to aquatic species- Hymenochirus and Xenopus. I´m about to receive 0.0.4 juvenile Hyloxalus azureiventris and I´m still left with a few questions, maybe somebody here can help out:
1. For the first few months, I set up a rather smallish tank (60x30 cm ground area), because I think that it´s easier for the frogs to find their food in there. I already purchased a larger vivarium (80x40x40 cm). Is it a good move to first put them into the smaller system or should I skip this step and immediatly keep them in the bigger one?
2. I´ve read contradicting infos about keeping this species in groups. The breeder were I´ll buy them does so without problems, but I also read that they might be aggressive and should be kept in pairs, so I´m not sure whether the four frogs will get along or not. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Julia
Hello Felis! Have not kept those beautiful frogs yet; but here some information on them: http://www.dendroboard.com/forum/mem...-progress.html and AmphibiaWeb - Hyloxalus azureiventris. Good luck with them and share pics please!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
