Just found out that my tadpoles are bufo americanus offspring! Any thoughts on care and how long until they grow legs? They're roughly 2-3 mm in length...
thanks!!
Hi there
Raising toads from tadpoles is a rewarding and exciting experience! Keep the tads with four legs in a half and half
tank with gravel, the toad's mouths wont be able to fit a gravel in. if the tads grow to be toads, i would set up
an all land setup with a shallow water bowl filled with gravel if it is too deep and use an eco earth substrate, be
aware that american toads will hide most of the day and are nocturnal, you can feed the toadlets fruit flies and
inhead crickets, keep the toads with similar size tankmates and the temps in the 70s
Hope this helps
