    Default Fruit flies

I have like fruit lies or gnats in some of my planted tanks. I've read their harmless, but I still not a fan of them in my tanks. Any advice/comments or concerns would be greatly appreciated!

Is it a few random bugs or an infestation? I've had a couple of fliers in mine but my SIs took care of the issue. They're lifespans about 30 days from larvae so unless they're hatching from something in the tank, they should be gone in a month or so

They're called fungus gnats, and they will feed off anything organic in the soil or any fungus growing on the soil. I usually only get infestations on fresh plantings, before it has cycled and the fungus has died off. They won't hurt anything, they're just annoying and like flying up your nose whenever you open the tank >.<

Yeah those little buggers are a pain. I've had them work their way up my nose before.
