Hi again, sorry to be a pest but now i am hearing that i shouldnt keep snails with acfs as they might eat them? I wouldnt think they would notice them as they move so slow. Thoughts?
thanks,
carole
ps i am definitely getting 2 frogs in a couple of weeks. I have a friend who owns a pet store looking for reticulated albino but either way will be getting two new little friends in a couple of weeks.
I wouldn't say they're bad but if I recall the last time I saw nerite snails there's a few issues I would have with adding them.
#1 some nerites (thorny nerites) have spiky shells, not a good combo with ACF that attack most everything and swim around with not much regard as to what they run in to..
#2 they're not the largest of snails so there is a good chance that large clawed frogs will 'try' to eat them.
#3 always a risk of transmitting parasites and snails are known to carry several.
I kept a large mystery snail with my frogs when they were juveniles, they harassed it to death. Your mileage may vary.
