Well came home to find 2 of the tads had passed. Don't know what caused it.

Are they your tads or did you 'acquire ' them ?

They need to be kept in the water they came in.
If you can contact the person you bought them form - perhaps you could duplicate the water exactly as they had it for the tads ?
