Once a week I do a complete water change, and while I'm at it I usually rearrange the viv (and usually splurge a little and add something new). This weeks' theme is jungle plant fever.
Not sure how the frogs like it. Some are still dark, some are bright, some were bright this morning and dark this afternoon. I think they just need to readjust. On a happy note, Hugo is back to singing, so I must be doing something right.
Changes:
Removed ALL fish gravel (WAY too difficult to keep clean and makes the filter work twice as hard)
Removed 50% of pillowmoss
Removed Black Climbing Vine
Removed Green Mesh for climbing
Replaced small gravel with a couple large river rocks
Added stands for elevation of slate slabs (Very secure)
Added a ramp to the filter to prevent splashing and allow a trickle effect that doesn't disturb the water
Added three fake plants of highest quality (One being a huge water lilly. Still haven't seen my bellies climbing on there yet, but it will happen)
Added second log, this one fake, that mimics the colours of my frogs almost perfectly and allows a shallow soaking area.
Reintroduced two live plants (seaweed type thing)
Added green cloth below the tank to make the water glow green (and hopefully this will encourage my little ones to brighten up a little.)

These two are of Hugo before the tank change. I just really liked them and thought I'd share

I'm digging the pretty minimalist approach to the bottom cover of the tank. Hope it works out good for them![]()
