Waterfalls are an attractive and beneficial addtion to a dart frog tank, but as long as you provide plenty of live or artificial plants as well as high humidity levels, your frogs should be okay.
a waterfall is basically for aesthetics. it will help keep humidity up, but they are not "necessary". the auratus will care less about it. as far as are they complicated, they can be as complex or as simple as you want them to be. but there are special considerations you need to make while planning. you need to route tubing and an electrical cord for the pump. you also need to provide yourself a way to access the pump in case of failure. if it's your first time building a viv, I would actually recommend against ts doing one.

If it's your first vivarium (like mine) you can buy an Exo terra waterfall. I bought in a Spanish web one pack which included waterfall medium, fogger and hygrometer for 49€. I'm sure in your country there are cheap shops or webs (or in eBay or amazon )
In my opinion they are very easy to use and aesthetic!
Yeah I think I might get one of those, I've found a relatively cheap one on ebay which I will probably get.
cheers Dan
depends how good you are at building them
I'm with Bill. D. Auratus will prefer more ground space and would be pretty indifferent about the waterfall. Water features are beautiful but bring with them so many headaches. Besides everything bill mentioned, you have to consider a plan on how to remove the pump if it malfunctions, how to empty water if it gets dirty, etc. I'd keep it simple and skip the waterfall. You'll thank us in the long run.
