I have two American green tree frogs. I know there have been a lot of posts on this, and that I should feed them two or three crickets daily. However, because I have two, should I separate them at feeding time to make sure both get two to three crickets daily (if I feed them in separate containers every day, won't that stress them out)? Is there an easier method (like putting in anywhere between 15-30 small crickets at a time, and then feeding them again when the crickets are all gone)? Thanks!
I would try to feed them at the same time, but separately. I had this same problem with my juvenile bullfrog and green frog when they were in the same tank together.
What I'd do is either gently move or place each frog on opposite sides of the tank, then place in half the normal amount you give them on each
My Amphibians:
1.0.0 Rana Catesbiana (Bumpy Digtoad )
1.0.0 Pseudacris Regilla (Levi )
1.1.0 Ambystoma Macrodactylum (Urtham and Gargan )
2.2.0 Bombina Orientalis ( Rosa, Sasha, Aleksis, and Dimitri )

I don't think this method would work for me though because it is a small tank (12"x12"x18"), and the crickets would almost instantly scatter around the terrarium (I have to put them in the feeding bowl). Further, the frogs usually don't eat right away when I put the crickets in, which means the crickets will have more time to scatter or burrow into the substrate.
Ah. That's tough. I have that problem sometimes with my Chorus frogs, but they always do get the crickets in the end.
Maybe put in 2 seperate feeding bowls, and place one frog at each?

Ok, I'll try that.
Also, I have another question. Currently I use Reptivite with vitamin D3 to dust my feeder items. It does have calcium in it; do I need another separate calcium powder, or can I just use Reptivite to dust the crickets once a week?
I feed my green tree frogs 6-12 crickets every other day, and I just dump the crickets into the cage. I don't do anything to make sure they get an equal amount-if they're hungry, they eat, and if they aren't, they wait for the next feeding. You can just use Reptivite, and I don't thik you'll have any problems.

good info. a separate feeding bowl would be a great option. both your frogs get to eat and they get used to you feeding them this way. and in time they will catch on to the fact that is time to eat when you place them in a bowl. Now i am not sure how different species of frogs would take to this method but my pixie and my American bullfrogs seemed to do excellent with this.
