It's a full spectrum light but the PAR around 28 @ 18". Everything I have read on the light states it is a "low light" fixture, this is not a bad thing though because low-medium light is recommended for people that do not use CO2/Fertilizers.

So yeah it is plenty of light to grow plants depending on how tall your tank is. Since my plant growth is kind of dense I use Finnex Ray2 24" to light the back of the tank and the Current LED+ to light the front. This is mostly because valisineria really blocks a lot of light, if I didn't have it growing in my tank I think I'd stick to just the Current LED (the colors on it are amazing).

The big tank houses a wild type female and an albino male. The small tank houses a male and female reticulated albino and a wild type male. But they will move some day into the big tank.

Looks great. I see you have a lot of ramshorn snails, do your frogs ever eat them?

Don´t know what kind of snails they are, but they do a great job of eating algae. Need to put some in my small tank.
The frogs don´t eat them. I think my axolotls do.

Cool, I may need to introduce them to my frog tank to control the diatom issues I have. I have a ton of those snails in my other tanks but I was always afraid my frogs would try to eat them so I never let them get into my frog tanks.

They don´t eat them and even if they do, the snails are small so the frogs won´t choke in them.

Here is the current one I am cycling (you can't see the other fern that's been tied to a rock)
So far my plans are to add driftwood, and perhaps some other strong plants, or even good plastic imitators.


Like I said, I hope to add more and get a really nice natural look with plenty of space for my two ACFs to swim around in.

Right now I have them in a temporary tank, until this one has been cycled and prepared for them

I've added an Amazon sword and aquatic fern, however I plan on getting some more plants. I know anubias is really popular, but are there any other recommendations that grow well and provide lots of aquatic foliage?
I have a fern attached to the jade buddah in the tank, which I thought was quite clever.

Vallisneria spiralis varia tiger is a good looking plant, and grows well in cold and in hot water.

Amazone swords are good hiding spots for your frogs.

I planted water sprite (indian fern) in my african clawed frog tank. It did not grow well and actually was rather anemic when floating but once planted it basically took over the tank. The frogs really like it, it provides a ton of cover.

Valisineria grows really fast too in my tanks, I remove a lot of it every few months because it grows so quickly.

Though it doesn't provide foliage I do like duckweed a lot. You have to remove it constantly and yes it can be messy but it does provide a lot of cover for the frogs and it is really awesome at keeping your water chemistry in balance. I don't think I've ever measured over 10ppm of nitrate in my tank ever since I added all the plants, they do a great job of sucking up nitrates.

Mine uproot some, but not all. If the plant has a strong enough root structure, it shouldn't uprooted really.

I use river stones and some decor to attach the plants. They haven't been in the tank yet so I can't say they would up-root them, but I did tie them with a crazy amount of thread. I think it's more likely for them to tear up the leaves of the more delicate plants.

My tank has come a long way in the past month. Though the plants are artificial, they keep the frogs rather happy! I was also sure to include lots of hiding spots.

My current tank , home to female Borealis named Druscila, albino male Ollie, and Gus, who I got from a grow a frog kit 13 years ago Tank is 29 gallons , running with a hang on back penguin filter at about 68 degrees. I got LED lights which can be switched from white to blue . Substrate is white aquarium sand, and plants are artificial for the most part except my amazon swords. I put any live plants in terra cotta pots so the little devils wong uproot them.
