Help...white foamy bubbles......

This is my first time having FBT...or any other kind of tank animals. I did everything the pet store person told me to do. I got them a week ago, I was told to change the water every week, Last week I noticed the bubbles but they weren't that bad, but this week they pretty much cover the whole top of the water. I'm concerned it might hurt the FBT. My FBT seem to stay in the water more than the land, and on top of the bubbles i think they were mating today. Am I being too concerned, did I do something wrong when I cleaned the tank?????

Did you use soap to clean the tank?

No I did not. I used warm water and paper towels.

do you have a filter in the tank? maybe some sort of waterfall type feature?

Yes I do, with a waterfall. Its the one the petsmart lady recommended. Will it always bubble with the waterfall? I have the filter all the way to the bottom of the tank and the water goes about half way up the filter.

I'm not 100% sure that is the cause, but try adding some water and see if the bubbles become less. if they do, you have your answer. it's kind of the same principle of a fish tank with a filter hanging on the back. when the water goes low, bubbles are created from the churning action. top the water off and the bubbles go away.

If I put any more water into the tank, they are going to loose their beach area. I dont have any thing in the water area, i put some bulbs in there for plants but they are just now starting to grow. Will it affect them if i put more water? I know they like to stay in the deep area of the tank, there is just enough water where they stretch out and their nose just is out of the water. Sorry I have so many questions.
