Hi,
Welcome to Frog Forum.
We would need to know what kind of tads you have.
Could you possibly post a photo as this would help to evaluate how far along their development is.

hello, i have my first tadpoles and i would like to know how many days they take to become froglets? i've searched the internet and answers are different everywhere, but i know weather is a main factor so FYI i live in the dominican republic and its always around, 30C-35C day and 20C-26C night sorry i dont know fahrenheit. thanks! oh and they are starting to gain color instead of the see-through skin they had like 3 days ago when i first got them.

So cute! I'm not experienced enough to know what they are from pics but am excited for you! Welcome to the forums
Thanks! Also they're noticeably bigger every day, i thought the process was a much slower but at this rithm its just bout time
Where did you get the tadpoles? Are they wild caught or did you buy them?

I got them in the wild, i live in dominican republic and almost nobody have frogs over here and no petstore sells nothing frog related
can someone please tell me how long they take? and if they are frog or toad tadpoles
they could be one of any of these species Caribherp - West Indian amphibians and reptiles and since the tads are so small, it may be almost impossible to tell.

thank you really much! thats really helpfull
so ive searched for pictures, and they are identical to the marine toad tadpoles..
I am with you on how every source explains a different amount of time. I really want to say 3 weeks at your temp. but i have never raised them from tadpoles so i can not give you an accurate answer. I have raised fire belly toads from tadpole as well as American bullfrogs and the amount of time is the difference between day and night. the fire belly reference i researched stated 3-4 weeks. It took 2 whole months for them to even start there metamorphism. So i know that was way off. Now American bullfrogs which reach a similar size (don't be mistaken marine toads get way bigger, in fact they are the second largest next to the number one Goliath frog they are even a larger species then the giant pixie) and American bullfrog tadpoles can take 2 weeks to 2 years to go through metamorphism depending on temperature and environment. But this information can mean absolutely nothing to you given the simple fact that you have an entirely different species and you have a toad, i am referencing frogs. (yes fire belly toads are Frogs despite the name although they have large similarity's as a toad)
Ok my answer is i I don't know honestly but i would surly like to know. I would also like to know the water temp you have them in. I ask this because i have marine toads and plan on getting a few more and this will be my first species i will attempt to breed. I want to know as much as i can about them.
you came on this forum looking for answers but i believe you will be the one to give the answers.
But some info on them they you may or may not know. As tadpoles they are extremely toxic. If enough food does not exist they will cannibalize. Some references suggest that they are their own biggest competition in the wild, so keep an eye on them. They are a very sturdy toad probably the strongest living toad alive on earth. Most likely one of the reasons they are labeled on the 100 of the worlds most evasive species list. But as tadpoles they are very vulnerable. They are the easiest species i own even easier then the pixie and fire belly.
How many do you have?
When did you catch them and in what kind of environment?
How big were they when you caught them?
And also how often do you come across tadpoles?
I don't know the laws about shipping them into the US but if possible would you be interested in selling some?
very interesting, i'll PM you so we can keep more in touch and we'll both help each other.
