I just ordered the medicine from Dr. Frye so hopefully it comes quickly and works! I will still keep offering food in hopes that he eats SOMETHING. I hope that maybe after this is all done he'll be more active!

The medicine came today! My boyfriend was home when it came so he gave Glurmo the first dose. Hopefully Glurmo will eat something soon! He still hasn't even showed any interest in food and has been very lethargic, barely holding his head up. I'll need to build up his calcium once he's eating again, so I figured I would dust with every feeding for a while. Any ideas on how long I should do this for?

Glad you got the medication. How long has it been now since he's eaten?

I would dust daily for about 3 days to start, then observe and see how he does. If he's not eating, soak daily for 3 days, then still see if he starts eating.

I don't remember exactly when the last time he ate was, but I know it's been somewhere between a week and a week and a half. I'm going to a reptile expo tomorrow so I'm going to get more roaches to build my colony. I haven't been able to feed off my colony yet because I don't have very many adults. I think he'll improve quicker eating roaches. How long do you think it will take for the medicine to start working?

It usually takes about 2-3 days for the twitching to stop. I brought home a pacman with tetany last year. It took him 3 days. The first day I gave home a liquid replacement soak and started dusting his food. By day 2 it was less often but still present when he hopped, mostly in his feet. By day three it stopped so I continued the powdered oral supplement and then switched to every other day. He was fine after that. He took the dusted food every night.

Give him the dilutedd pedialyte bath as soon as possible (? Tonight), followed by a calcium soak (per bottle instructions). Then start dusting his food, as noted. I hope he eats for you. The soaks will give him electrolytes and some energy. As he gets the medication he should start feeling better.

Please keep us posted. Good luck!

I haven't seen any twitching from him since that first incident so I think maybe it was shedding behavior? I've been giving him baths on a nightly basis and offering food nightly. He looked slightly less "blah", but still didn't really show any interest in food. I'm getting ready to head to the expo! Hopefully I'll find some awesome stuff for their upcoming tank rebuild!

Which medication did he prescribe? Metronidazole?

Yes, he prescribed metronidazole. Still no noticeable changes, but he's only had two doses. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll snap back soon!

This morning Glurmo actually climbed up the back of the tank and slept up near the top! This is the first time he's done that in weeks. Before he got sick I thought he was just going through a phase where he just preferred a lower to the ground plant, but now I'm thinking he just wasn't feeling up the climbing before. I so hope this means he'll heat tonight!

Still no eating... I'm really hoping it happens soon! He does seem to be moving around the tank a little more, but I would really like to see him at least eat one cricket! Trying again tonight...

Ahh thank you! It's so discouraging to see him just sit and show no interest in food. It just breaks my heart.

I would consider force feeding him if he doesn't eat very soon. Try again tonight to offer food. Crossing fingers!

I think he ate last night! I feed him in a tupperware container so Lrrr doesn't eat his crickets and I just rest the lid on top. So I didn't actually see the cricket get eaten, but it wasn't there when I went to take him out of the container! It's possible it could have found a way to escape so I'm not holding my breath, but it definitely gave me some hope

Ugh, I just can't catch a break. If he did eat that one cricket, he hasn't eaten since. And last night he had this weird tiny poop that was mostly mucus (slightly green). I was hoping the medicine would have done something by now . I'm going to try force feeding again. He needs to eat SOMETHING.

It may take some time. It would be a good idea to feed him manually for the next few days, then try again.
