The only thing I have to add at this time is calcium comes in a liquid supplement also. It is not absorbed as much as through the GI system, but it can help and at least prevent tetany and MBD. You can do a soak with it. The bottle tells you how many drops to add. I brought home a pac with tetany last year and it stopped the symptoms within a couple days. You will likely only need a maintenance or usual dose as prevention.
Stress often triggers a weak immune system, which allows opportunistic infections to sneak in and/or overgrowth of their own gut flora.
