    Hi there
Green tree frogs will regularally turn brown,
many say they are stressed but they are
    either cold or resting usually

i would say that green tree frogs do need lighting for natural day, night tine cycle. i use a 50 watt tropical heat
bulb and/or UV bulb that is 50 watts, if the frogs are continuously brown all the time, try a dimmer light, there are
a couple mad by fluker's and exo terra.

For the water dichlorinator, ive only used exo terra and Zilla dechlorinator, ive never had this sort of film residue
on my reptile dishes but it is normal for a small amount of bubbly foam to be on the surface of the water.

I assumed as much for the coloring, I just wanted to be sure that I shouldn't be expecting that brighter green unless they're active. They're not BROWN, more of just a really dark foresty-green, but they get brighter at night time as mentioned. As for the dechlorinator, I'm not wondering about the film or the bubbly water really (those were just notes to show the difference between the topfin brand and the flukers+aloe). What I'm really wondering there is if the aloe in the dechlorinator is ok for my little guys. I know I've heard that additives can be harmful to frogs (i.e. the pain reliever in Neosporin), so I wanted to be sure that it's safe to continue using this. Thank you for the feedback though .
