So there have been a couple of things I've been wondering about in regards to my H. cinerea's condition, their tank, and overall just making things better for them and making them happier. I figured it'd be annoying to ask a bunch of different things in a handful of topics, so I'll just list what I've been wondering.
1) My frogs are typically a very dark shade of green during the day, and when it's lights off, they finally turn a brighter green. I understand that they are resting and that probably has something to do with it, but any idea what things I could try to tweak to see if they'd be more comfy? I also just added an background to one side, so they have to covered sides (just a note).
2) A question in regard to the first, I read somewhere that H. cineria don't necessarily need lighting, and one day when I accidentally left the light off, they seemed brighter in color, more active, and less skittish. So what would I have to take into consideration when deciding if it's a good idea to have lights off from time to time?
3) I've got two bottles of dechlorinator; Top fin brand and Fluker's with added aloe. I used the Top Fin when I had my Grays, but started using Fluker's with my greens. I notice that the Fluker's leaves a residue on the water dish, makes the water look kind of filmy, and gets a bit bubbly while filling up the dish with water+dechlorinator. I'm just wondering, is the aloe ok for the frogs, or was I misled by the semingly happy African Clawed Frog on the bottle?
