I see we both do the same thing. Easier to ask for forgiveness then permission. . I hope you have a good move, Bill.

thanks ed and I give my wife a lot of credit. I rarely have to ask for forgiveness.as long as the bills are paid, she doesn't give me much grief. OK, so when I started collecting animal skulls a few months back, she got a little weirded out. but no problems..lol

Syngonium rayii is a great vivarium plant, after awhile it will send out some vines which you can train up a background, the last time I pruned my around tank it had about 4' in vines with little plantlets popping up every few inches. The Ficus panama does ok as well, but it definitely goes in the category of one of the slow to establish plants.

thanks for the info Bonnie i would say most of the smaller species of ficus go in the slow to establish category....lol

This is a great thread. Great conversation.
Bill, I'm sorry.... I didn't know you were moving.
    Greenhouse ? I'm jealous!
Sigh.......Moving can be stressful. It's a big adjustment- more than we think.
The 'Ficus panama' does grow very slowly. I like it because it hugs the area where it's planted.
I'll save syngonium for you as it is growing like a weed. Let me know when you are ready for cuttings.
Actually, some of my syngonium is ,originally, from John Clare. ( it's good karma to spread things around!)

yup Lynn. I moved today. I can talk about it now that the legalities are done. my landlord was trying to illegally evict us. so my wife and I decided that while we fight the eviction (which since has been dropped), we arranged to stay with family until we save enough cash to buy a house. the remaining tanks I had went into storage today, including the 125. winter project my mantella and white's all went to a friend who will be returning them to me after we find a new house. I get to visit them often . my doggie, who is truly my best friend in the world, is being cared for by my cousin, and she will be less than a mile from me so I can visit her anytime I want it will be stressful, but worth it in the end.

    Hi Bill,
Best of luck in your new home, even if temporary. There is nothing like family!
It was only with the greatest fortitude to pursue finding those great situations for your pets.
    Forge forward !!!!!!

Hahaha skulls. Yeah I think me and the skulls would be sleeping in the frog room.

Sorry about the landlord misfortunes. I'm glad however, that you found temp homes for your pets and are able to visit them and will be able to get them back. I wish we lived closer to each other. I would love to help with you with a build and see how others build.
