I have a problem of sorts I guess anyway.
My roaches I got from Demon Amphibians are starting to thrive. The adults are increasing in numbers and I have seen at least 3 of the females carrying ooths. The problem is I have a ratio way higher than I have read you should keep of male to female. I would bet it is 2:1 female:male right now. I wish I had someone who would take the extra males to feed to their pet but I have no options locally.
I don't want to arbitrarily get rid of them either. I don't want to remove producing males instead of older ones.
I know the ratio needs to be 5:1 at least and closer to 8:1 for best results. I just don't want to do anything without getting some good advice before hand.
So should I cull them, freeze them or whatever to get the ratio right or leave them alone for now?
I think I will be trying to catch one of the larger frog species locally so I have a critter to eat the excess adult males instead of killing them.
