I told my mom and she said 'thanks!' She loves my frogs just as much as I do.
My little guy still has not eaten. Was not interested in the crickets I put into his cage. Also, when I pulled him out to change his paper towels last night, I must have aggrevated the cut on the back of his little froggy knee. I ended up with blood on my hand though it was gel like. Is that normal?
I got him back into the tank and left him alone last night. Just cleaned him this morning amd he seems to be fine. There was the tiniest hint of blood on his paper towels, but I am not sure if it was from the initial upset of his wound.
I have some good news! It looks like the swelling in his leg has gone down some. I will try to get a recent picture up so you guys can take a peek. Hopefully my eyes aren't playing tricks on me!
He still hasn't eaten, so when I got home from work I did a Pedialyte soak followed a dechlorinated water soak. Both were 15 minutes. While he was soaking, I cleaned out his hospital tank and got him some fresh water. In the morning I am going to try him on the worms again. He was not into the crickets at all last night.
I hope he eats for you today! Crossing fingers!

He didn't want to eat for me this AM. Tried the worms and he is not interested. I will bring some crickets home again and see if he will eat those.
Try feeding him again tonight before bed time. Try pulling off one large cricket leg to slow the cricket down. If he doesn't eat tonight then make him a pedialyte bath. It's 1 part pedialyte to 10 parts dechlorinated lukewarm water. You can even soak him in his own water bowl since he is used to it. Let him soak for about 15-20 minutes. This will give him some electrolytes and energy. Actually, you could even do the soak before feeding. After the soak, rinse out and refill his water bowl as usual.
If he does not eat soon, you'll have to consider feeding him some reptaboost or force feeding.
If he sheds tonight, you can sneak a cricket in. Remove both large cricket legs. I actually remove the head too. Lightly dust with calcium/vita D3 powder. Sit calmly and be ready. Rest your jeans just above home and wait until he opens wide and gently drop it in. He might spit it out. You can try again. Try not to startle him. Lynn (flybyferns) has come up with this better way to force feed than the alternative. If this does not work and he still doesn't eat I will teach you how to force feed.
How does his knee look?

So I brought some crickets home again and he's still not interested in them. D: I pulled off both back legs because they were still super speedy with one back leg. I left him alone for about an hour with the bugs and nada. As I type this, he is soaking in a Pedialyte bath and has about 10 minutes left before I soak him in dechlorinated water.
How in the world do you get a frog to eat the Reptaboost? I can only imagine how much fun it is going to be.
The image on the left is the day I decided I was going to bring him home and nurse him back to health. The image on the right was just taken before I put him into his Pedialyte bath tonight.
Is it just me or does his leg look less swollen?
It still looks swollen. I think he may need more antibiotics than just the neosporin. Put the neosporin on the light green spots too, everyday. I would contact a vet to get some systemic antibiotics. It is not very expensive if you get them from Dr. Frye. You can call. He'll want you to email him the photos.

I already e-mailed him the first picture when I first contacted him. Unfortunately, I just got paid so now I have to make the little guy wait even longer until it arrives. I will keep doing what I am doing for him until it shows up at work.
I will be ordering the Baytril from him for now and then keep using Neosporin until I can order the SSD next pay day.
That should help.

He still isn't eating, but I put him in another Pedialyte bath before bed last night.
His leg looks like it is getting better. Of course, I am no vet. xD
I am keeping my fingers crossed at this point.
If you would like I will teach you how to carefully force feed him?

That would be amazing! Thank you, Heather!
HIS LEG LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER! Ahhh! I am so excited that I could scream! He is so much more active now. He even hopped away from me when I was putting Neosporin on his leg.
He still hasn't eaten, but I did the Pedialyte bath again.
I'll send you a PM.

I know I already thanked you, Heather, but THANK YOU! I don't know if I could have brought this little guy back and made him healthy without all of your input and your force feeding videos!
THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!
I tried force feeding him some earthworms and I just wasn't quick enough to get them in his mouth when I got him to open up. D: I just fed him some ReptaBoost and he took it like a champ! I got .5mL in him and I am feeling so much better now that I have been able to do that. How much should I feed this little guy a day until I can get him to eat on his own? Also, what do you think about me letting him wander the cage with my other frogs at this point? I was thinking that maybe being able to hunt in a larger space might get him eating on his own. Any thoughts?
I know that this little guy is feeling better because he jumps away from me now when I try to Neosporin his wound. Even better news is that the puncture wound has closed up. =D

His leg looks totally normal now!
I was wondering if I could force feed him some freeze dried mealworms? Or if it would be okay to let him loose in the big cage to hunt? He just sits in the little cage and ignores the crickets that I put in for him.
Mealworms are trouble. They are hard to digest and often cause impaction. You could try wax worms. They are fatty and not very nutritious, but he could use the weight. I usually only recommend them as a treat, but you could try.

Of course, the store I work at is out of them. Go figure. Haha. Will bug the manager to see if he can get some for me.
