As a rule, amphibians prefer cooler tempertures than reptiles do. So I wouldn't worry to much about night time temperture as long is doesn't drop into the extremes, and most people's homes are within an acceptable temperture range.

my hubby loves to run the A/C and it has dropped to 64 at night in my tank
I don't think that will hurt them. I would feel better not letting drop down that far. 68°F would be better.
yea, that is why I got the moonlight. Keeps it around 70-72
That works.
my tank is some times at 65 at night my whites seem to love it
White's range over most of Australia, including New South Wales and I beleive that state may be in the temperate zone, but I am not 100% sure.
