I have a few questions about the potential of re-using things from other frogs vivs -- these would be used in dart frogs' vivs:
Some things I would like to use that has been used before:
--Hydroton balls
--Mopani wood
--Possibly background and/or tree fern panels
--Some "plastic"/resin pet store purchased decorations/hides
--live fern plants -- from a previous-now-empty viv that housed red and black walking frogs
How safe is it to re-use these items if cleaned/rinsed well? Would I need to add a bit of bleach to sanitize it? Or would it be best to throw out the old stuff and replace it with new? I'd like to reuse items if I can to save some money, but I guess to know if the toxins from other frogs would be cleaned off in my cleaning/sanitizing the items. Potential previous occupants are White's tree frogs, fire bellied toads, bumble bee walking toads, green tree frogs, red and black walking frogs -- of which the latter two I no longer have and their vivs are empty of frogs -- the others, may re-do their habitats.
What about tank sanitation/cleaning in preparation for new occupants? Is bleach necessary?
Thanks for any and all advice.
