I have set up a recorder that last 2 nights and ran it for several hours, last night i turned it off around 2 am to conserve memory on my smartphone, but at 430 i was awoken by my frog. guess i should have left it on, i will keep recording each night til i get it. it sounds IDENTICAL to this frog in this video around the 10 second mark. he/she does it 3 to 4 times, with 4-5 second gaps inbetween.

Its a girl, females ca n make a higher pitch grunting/squeaks but don't bellow like a 9 month old male. Keep trying to record a call. I'd be very supprized if its a male. It's a beauty frog! Looks very health.
GOT THE NOISE ON AUDIO, it does this about every other night when its in the water or on land had to search through hours of recording, not the loudest noises its made but here. and thanks it sure is a beautiful frog, i spend alot of time taking care of it.
Here is the link to the audio couldnt figure out how to embed but here is the link

I am aware of what the typical male call sounds like, but i was also told by several individuals that females do not call but rather make a noise, what my frog is doing is certainly a call of some sort, so i would like more than one persons input on the matter. right now ive got one vote for male and one for female due to the sound,
for other people, here is the link to the sound

actually i would like to hear what other people think too.

Hmmm sounds nothing like my male or others I've heard?? Not sure what to think now. Seems like a call of some sort.
It's a female. I've said in your other thread as well about females vocalizing. Your description sounded like you were hearing actual croaks or bellows, which made me rethink, and go towards "it has to be a male."
Nice job man. Its about time someone proved this. My first pyxie was a big fat female and I heard this exact sound several times as well. I was told everything from squeaking on the glass etc. Def. A female and you PROVED they call. Awesome man!
