New to Forum but not to frogs and looking for information/advice

I am at a small zoo facility. There is talk of adding some amphibians to our Reptile House. There is currently a 100+ gallon standard aqaurium set aside for this. I really want to setup something educational and exciting. I have owned frogs in the past nothing to crazy but I have experience (1.2.0 African Clawed Frogs, 0.1.0 Pixie Frog, 0.0.2 Tree Frogs, 0.0.1 Pacman Frog). We only have this one tank avaliable so I want to make the most of it and would like to have a few different species in there. NOW BEFORE YOU ALL FREAK OUT! Here is my idea, I would like to place plexi-glass dividers to create completely seperate tanks but have a continusous look flow thoughout to make it look like a single environment. I would like to have an aquatic/semi-aquatic frog, then a terrestrial frog and then an arboreal species. That way people can see all the different types of frogs out there. I am looking for any critisism or help on having shared walls and any ideas of species that have a fairly basic care level and that are good display species.

Are you looking for frogs that are easy to care for? I'm presuming diurnal frogs, not nocturnal?

The zoo's primary focus is mammals and birds. So I'm not looking for anything too difficult to care for. It is also a small facility so budget is an issue which restricts us to less exotic specimens. However I would love to make up for that with an naturalistic setup including live plants. Dirurnal animals would be a plus but might not be a requirement, especially because I would like I include tree frogs which tend to be nocturnal. Some of the things I have thought about are Firebellied Toads, I know they are active and can be housed in groups. I would also love to include a species of Dart Frog. And as for a tree frog I've thought about White's, Monkey Frogs or something else of a similar large size.

Great ideas! I was thinking firebellies too. They are colorful, energetic, and entertaining . Some of the more active tinctorious dart species would be nice. They give great color too. Whites are always so cute. Monkey tree frogs are a bit tougher to keep and stress more easily. Red eyes are pretty, but stress easily and sleep all day curled up like leaves. I think you've made great choices.

I would recommend dark tinted glass between the sections to avoid stress between species as well. Nice planted tanks will help. Backgrounds and side covers also minimize stress.

This sounds like a great project . Peek through the vivarium sections and you'll find some great ideas. I'd recommend doing all of your care research per species first, then set up the tank sections, be sure your temps and humidities per section are good per varying species, then purchase your frogs . This will save you much stress for yourself and your frogs. Look through the care articles section here. There is even an article on 'which frog is right for me'.

Thanks! This is going to be a long process. I have to come up with a full proposal first including species, care, enclosure design and the estimated cost. Then it will have to be approved by my superiors and then by their superiors before I can move forward. But hopefully this will get moving soon.
