I know u can for dogs and cats but if its for a smaller and exotic pet you may have to pay allot more. Or it may not even exist

I've vaguely heard of it before... But I always thought it was more for people who had crazy valuable reptiles. You know, like those ball python morphs that cost up to $20,000

When I was living with my parents for awhile a few year back I asked their homeowners insurance Comp. About covering my reptile collection encased of a fire. Not covering them for anything else. Just incase something happened while no one was home. They said it could be done but may cost more then i would be interested in. They would have wanted to send someone over to photograph everything and sit down and document everything I had invested. Species especially. I don't remember which company it was and i didn't follow through because i wasn't planning on staying long term. But now that we bought our own house Im thinking about checking back into it.

that is very interesting Eric, i wonder if insurance needs to be updated every time you have movements of your reptiles in or out. I think i will look into it. somehow when people talk about insurance on a pets i have only vet part of it in mind.

that is what i was thinking too, say I'm thinking on adding a trio of GT leaches, so we have 3000 right there, thus insured value is changing by much and if those leaches are having babies, value is jumping but a lot again, i wonder how value of eggs is calculated lol and then you are selling those babies off, value goes down. the whole thing must sound too sketchy to insurance company. and if you have bp valued at 20000 each..... ouch.

That's one of the main problems. Ever changing stock. You can't just constantly add stuff to it every few weeks .

Btw. Love giants. I used to have a few pairs myself. Isle E's and gt .
