Cool Bedding for my Grey Tree Frog. Need help.

I have a Grey Tree Frog and this is his first winter (he is only 6 moths old had him since an egg) and i want to change his tank but I don't have bedding for him. And i don't want to buy bedding. I use moss from outside as bedding for him. Well since all the moss is covered in snow Can I use wood shaving in his tank if i keep the shaving moist? I heard many people say no because it will stick to the frog but if itsmoist it should be all right?

Wood shavings are a complete no no... high impaction rate too. I use store bought sheet moss for reptiles over terrarium substrate coco fiber ... it is not expensive and if you can get springtails to clean it you can go along time without changing it. one frog would be fine for 6 months with those little helpers. and regular poop pickups by you...

It's not a good idea to let your frog sit on a laptap or any surface outside his enclosure. They're very sensitive to chemicals and other stuff on surfaces.

Agreed, if you do remove the frog from the enclosure, never let it "run around and play" on your carpet, floor, desk, etc. It will either get hurt, poisoned, escape, or hide, the latter two of which increase the probability of the first two.

Well when I do let him out he chills on top of my laptop and sits there croacking to ther frogs on youtube. When I do clean his cage I put him in a jar with a lid with holes. Also my frog doesn't hid from me, he comes when called. I say Tubby and he come hopping over.

I will say it again- letting your frog sit on any surface outside his enclosure or on anything other than substrate or white paper towels is a recipe for disaster or poisoning.
