Is it just me or do most oranates have a REALLY strong feed response?

It's not just you, they are also notorious for munching on fingers. :P

They are the most voracious IMO. I've heard the joaz are pretty good too.

Ok haha this little half dollar sized one was jumping all over the place trying to get my finger when I was cleaning his tank and puffed up to it was prety funny

They do my joaz finally started eating pinkys yesterday. My ornate just eats everything but my female hasnt ate in almost a month.

In my experience they vary on their feeding response as well. Two of mine have never turned down the opportunity of a meal. Another one there's been days that he/she won't eat. Another young one doesn't eat much either but he's been sick. My apple, though, sometimes it's scary when she goes after a worm. It's almost if she's angry.

Emandkel is correct. The feeding responce varies from frog to frog. Ornates are know for a very gluttonous appetite though, but not all will eat the same as another. C. joazeirensis also are pretty gluttonous. My female Luciferin eats more than all three my Ornates.

My wife won't feed my joaz. They go airborn soon as you open the lid to there tubs and bite whatever they can.

lol ornates are crazy ( majority). yesterday my Ruby flew across her tank for my finger, the tank is 18x18 and she was sitting in the very far corner. keep in mind that i had tongs in my hand with worm, but she rather went for the fingers. was fun lol

Warm water will get any snake or frog in this case to let go of your hand/finger.

yeah, but it is better not to get there at all lol Connor she is gentle about it, if she goes for a finger she let go pretty fast
