Hi all.
I am fairly new to the frog world. After a serious illness my daughter wanted a pet of her own. At the pet store they had spotted burrowing frogs and tadpoles so thats how we got started.
We didn't have success with this type of frog so a few months later they had the common brown tree frogs of the Adelaide hills and we tried those. We had great success and the following summer invested in some tadpoles of the same type which all successfully morphed into frogs. We have 8. 3 of them are 2 years old and 5 of them are 1 year old.
I then found some Perons Tree frogs and they are quite fascinating and large with strong voices. We have 5 adults.
Then last year I purchased 2 large Green and Gold Bell Frogs. They are stunning and sadly in decline in Australia. When our Govt. built the Homebush Stadium for the Sydney Olympics they had to rehome around 3000 of this species. It didn't work and they are now listed as Vulnerable. So a month ago when the same pet store was selling tadpoles I bought the whole lot and hope that I can get them breeding in the future and get them back into the wild. This little guy is just over a week old and is around 2 cms long.
