I am going to be purchasing a Exo-Terra Heat Wave Mat tonight before I leave work. I am thinking about getting the desert one because it will have to heat through the GS Foam background on my new tank (when it's completely set up). Think that it will help bring the temp up sufficiently?

I only asked about the Zinc Oxide because someone suggested it to me. I have another thing that I can use and it can be used on everything. It treats bacterial and fungal infections and comes in a gel application. Will see if that will work. If not, I can use it on my cats and whatnot.
