    Exclamation Help with heating supply

I have 3 WTFs in a 50 gallon tank. Currently I have a white bulb for my frogs but many people told me that they do not sleep with white light in the tank. Currently it is very cold here so I need something that keeps the tank warm. Many people suggested using the ceramic heater. I have a thermostat so I can regulate anything. My vivarium was handmade from scratch even the lighting fixtures, and I made only 1 plug for a bulb as I just found out this week that the frogs don't sleep with white light on. Can I get some opinions please? I already had a heating mat and it literally made no difference at all. So I definitely want a bulb or a ceramic heater. And opinions please? I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance

What is the current temperature? I do hope you turn the light off at night when you go to bed? Do you leave it on all the time?

The temp was 18 celcius. For the last 3 days I didn't turn it off at night because I didn't know. Now I am turning it off during the night. It stays on during the day. I just changed the bulb to a 60 watt bulb as the other was an energy saving bulb and it made no difference in the temp. Currently my best idea is to get the ceramic heater.

This is a good idea ( the ceramic heater) . I use them. They do need some monitoring!
I also use an exo-terra heater cable. ( not in the tank )

I had no luck using a ceramic heat lamp. It made almost no difference in the ambient temperature in the tank. If you do decide to use one, make sure you use the wire fixtures that are designed for them. The regular heat lamp fixtures hold in too much of the heat and end up ruining your fixture. I use blue/red/purple heat bulbs for my tank. They come in various sizes and reptiles/amphibians cannot see those colors in the color spectrum. They are safe to leave on at all times.

Your heating mat might not be working or it might not be the right size to make any difference in that size of a tank. You can always try getting a larger heat mat and using that with a heat bulb.
