What do the frogs/toads up here in New England do in the winter?

And if they just hibernate, is there a way I could have frogs outside year round?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I know they don't fly south for the winters...

What do the frogs/toads up here in New England do in the winter?

They mostly hang out at my house till spring.

Some go to the bottoms of ponds, others spend the winter buried in leaf litter where they freeze and thaw out in spring.
