I do not have a herp vet anywhere near me and due to my marriage recently falling apart I am beyond broke. I need to know what I can do if anything....

For those that dont know Frodo is a male Grey Tree Frog..
    Hi Rae,
    I'm so sorry
You need to move him into a hospital tank - asap.
Keep the accessories to an absolute bare minimum; no branches or anything that he could climb on ! Let the crickets roam the bottom of the hospital tank ?(paper towel dampened with de-chlor water) It's going to be difficult for him to hunt and lunge at them, which will do nothing for the healing process? If he has been forceps fed --do that, only .

I'm not so sure there's really anything that can be done to fix his leg, except to extremely limit the amount of moving he does (don't want him to mess it up more). He'll also probably be incredibly stressed. You'll need to cover the tank on three sides with cardboard or something. He'll feel a lot more secure.

You could email Dr Frye. He would not be able to treat your frog, but maybe there is something he could recommend?
Or..... better yet----HUNT for a herp vet!

I kinda answered most of that above in my original post... =(

As already stated he has been moved into a small cricket keeper and was hurt going after the tongs that I feed them with... The nearest vet is well over an hour away and my seperation has left me beyond broke.

As not mentioned though... I only have paper towel and a small water dish in the cricket keeper with him. Dr Frye wont ship to Canada.

    Hi Rae,
I read your post. I'm trying to help by reinforcing the most important steps to take for your frog. I don't know you at all , Rae. It can be difficult to decipher as to how much experienced a member actually has ?

I know Dr Fry will not ship to you . "He would not be able to treat your frog, but maybe there is something he could recommend? "
There is nothing to ship. I simply thought, since you are unable to have a vet in Canada advise you , that it can't hurt to ask Dr Frye.

Rae, sorry to hear about Frodo but I'm glad to see that you were able to keep some of your frogs (if not all of them) with you. In bad times it's a comfort to have your pets with you.

Lynn is right, email Dr. Frye and see if he can maybe just give you some advise. I've never had any experience with a frog with a broken arm but I think keeping him in the cricket keeper with the bare minimum is a good idea. It's not high so there won't be much room for climbing but that's a good thing since you'll want to keep his movement to a minimum.

Im still looking for a good home... unfortunately the only person that I felt I could trust never showed up. I wont give them to someone not experienced... I posted them on Kijiji then the MNR called and told me to remove it and wanted to arrange something for them... but they too never called back :/
