TO JESSICA (TUBBY0512): Im sorry if I insulted your terrarium building techniques. I was just at a state where I wanted to go from a terrarium to a live vivarium. Knowing the difference between the two will IN FACT change your actions/reactions that your frog previously had. When I had just plain coconut fiber / moss substrate and a water dish there was just the average life of the frog. I didn't get much noises at all. As soon as started to heavily mist them I noticed reactions. MUCH MORE PLAYFULL. NOISES. I got really annoyed having to open the terrarium and mist them once or twice a day so i bought a automatic mister (EXO TERRA MONSOON MISTER) VALUE AVERAGE $100 USD. Once I bought the mister a herpetologist recommended that my frogs should be in a vivarium to carry out their life happily in my tank. I learned the difference between the two and took out all my fake plants and replaced with live...aded EXO TERRA TREE FERN SUBSTRATE/ EXO TERRA EASY DRAIN SUBSTRATE (looks like lava rock) so i don't flood my live plants. This was a year long experience making the change and to do it successfully learning the proper substrates...making it rain throughout all evenings without flooding my plants while maintaining breeding weather for my red eyes. It truely was an expensive process to go from a terrarium to a live vivarium i went from spending about 500 dollars on my terrarium to about 1,500 dollars on my vivarium...but its well worth it once you see your frogs being more active and calling more often and showing a new personality. I love them very much and its nice to see them starting to mate. Maybe I will have eggs and frog lets soon and i will then call myself an advanced tree frog guy. HAHA. Really its just experience and how much money you are willing to spend to make your frogs happy with the most natural environment they can be in. If you want tips on how to set up a vivarium. I am MORE than willing to help you step by step.
