So I found some cool looking plantes at Wal-Mart and thought they'd look good in my vivarium and they actually do. but with them came earthworms and slugs. i know how to get the slugs but how can i kill the worms? they are eating the moss on viviarium floor.

You could change the substrate. Or give the substrate a good soak, just like when it rains outside they'll head to the surface and you can pick them out. A CO2 bomb to wipe out all non-plant life is another option (frogs removed first of course). How many worms are we talking here?

With plants from anywhere, it's always a good idea to clean off the potting soil they came with and inspect for any passengers. A soak in a mild bleach solution can be a good idea as well. I have quite a few plants from Walmart and if you take a few precautions you can minimize problems.

Rinse, rinse, rinse. Rinse all dirt and fertilizers off the plant and out of the roots. Give the plants a dilute bleach dip in a container of 1 part bleach to 95 parts water. Dip the plants for a good few minutes. Rinse off all bleach residue. Then rinse again in dechlorinated water with twice the amount of dechlorinator to remove all chlorine. I do the double dechlorinated rinse twice. This will kill any pests on the plants. Wah la!!!! You are ready to plant. Remember, chlorine burns and is toxic to them, so you must do a super thorough rinsing.
