Building my first vivarium out of a 55g tank, nothing fancy atleast not for my first build, and no where near finished with decor and what not. However was looking for some advice with plants/moss, as to what to purchase for different types of plants. I would like to house a small group of darts (depending on availability from my lps), and if all else fails will be home to a small group of fire-bellies. Also the tank is in my basement, so with winter temps, nights can get down to around 55degrees, and during the day usually around 60-65 which makes heating my next issue. I know once I get the water temp up to around 74-78 it will help a bit, but having some difficulty heating the rest....any advice is appreciated. Posted a photo to show what I'm working with, and as I said nothing fancy as I just tried to keep it decently simple, I may try to get a little more involved with my 30g build next - specially the more I read up on different builds.

My suggestion would be decide what's going in there first, then we can discuss plants. Some that would do well in a dart tank, won't be happy in a less humid environment like an fbt enclosure. If you heat the water, that should create enough heat in the enclosure for pretty much whatever you want to keep in there. It will also help create humidity.

Thanks for the reply bill, and at the moment I'm leaning toward purchasing a pair of Dendrobates leucomelas though will still be a awhile before I do the ordering since I want to wait until spring when the it isn't so cold outside, don't want to hurt the little guys during shipping since its to cold out now. I did replace the water heater I had in there with a larger one, which shot the water temp up to right around 74degress. The temp in the tank was reading 60 last night w/lights off, once my lights kick on (on timers) I'll see what it gets up to. I also found a lps that carries live plants, would appreciate any advice on what to be looking for.
